Admission Requirements

Admission to QFIS programmes is competitive with a premium based on an applicant's grades. Here you will find general information on the admission process and the minimum requirements for applying to your programme of interest. Special admission requirements set by QFIS may apply to certain specializations.

Applying

Once you have decided that you would like to apply for a programme, you should click on the "Enroll" icon. You are required to print the application form, complete all requested information, and send it to the QFIS address provided on the form with a non-refundable application fee of QR100.(Enroll NOW)

Required Documents

A- For local students:  

The following documents must be submitted with your application form and fees:

  • QatarFaculty of Islamic Studies Graduate Admission Application
  •  Each applicant must pay non-refundable application fees of QR100
  • Copy of the passport or national ID
  • Bachelor Certificate (Minimum Grade Good)
  • All relevant transcripts
  • Four recent coloured photographs
  • Test Score of TOEFL (550) *
  • Pass Arabic Test

*TOEFL score for Diploma in Islamic Studies is 500 

B- For international students:

  • QFIS Graduate Admission and Scholarship Forms

  •  Copy of the passport
  •  Bachelor Certificate (minimum grade V.Good)
  • All relevant transcripts
  • Four recent colored photographs
  • Test Score of TOEFL (550) for all Programs, except Diploma in Islamic Studies Score of TOEFL (500)
  • Pass Arabic Test (International students will do their Arabic exam when they come to Qatar)

 

Review of Applications

All applications will be reviewed after the deadline has passed. The deadline for admission to the fall semester is the third week of April and for the spring semester is the third week of November.

General Admission Requirements for Graduate Programs

Several criteria are used when assessing your eligibility for admission into one of our graduate programs. For special requirements, please see information on our site concerning your choice of program. General requirements for graduate admissions include:

  • Possession of an undergraduate degree from a recognized university with a grade point average (GPA) of B or the equivalent of a grade of "Good"
  • Fluency in English and Arabic to a minimum level of TOEFL 550 for English and its equivalent in Arabic. See Language Requirements and Testing
  • Computer literate
  • Recommendation letters provided by your two referees indicating that you can successfully complete the course of study applied for
  • Performance on a personal interview (if requested)

Language Requirements and Testing

Fluency in English is an essential requirement for studying at QFIS. You must submit your TOEFL results before being admitted to your program of choice. The minimum entry score is 550 on the TOEFL or the equivalent on another English placement exam approved by the Faculty Board.

Because Arabic is key to the study of Islam and all that relates to it, you are also required to be fluent in Arabic.  You must sit for Arabic Placement Exam provided by QFIS before being admitted to your programme. Based on your examination results we may recommend that you take Arabic non-credit courses.

Acceptance of Admission

You have 30 days to accept our offer of admission from the date of notification.Programme start dates may either be in the fall or the spring.
